Creating art combines essential aspects of life: risk, passion, mystery, and spirit. There is nothing certain at the start of a piece.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

Three dimensional forms using materials found and repurposed. Unlike a blank canvass, found/repurposed materials offer both hints and constraints as to what they might become!

Where do you find inspiration?

Nature permeates my work but not in a bucolic sense. It is anything but passive as the figure (created form) and materials conspire to go their own direction as nature always does. If I’m lucky I get to go along for the ride!

What would you do with $25,000?

Perhaps a public art piece and if there’s anything left over a return trip to Japan!
