Creating is one of the few times everything aligns, my thoughts, my instincts, my emotions. The connection it brings keeps me going.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
The art of temptation has so many layers to explore and discover. In my Masters Degree project I sought influences from my textured paintings and took it a step further to make temporary wet clay sculptures. Creating questions, Can I touch it? Is it chocolate? Can I eat this? Will I see a piece fall? Presenting wet clay means throughout the exhibition it will dry and “falls apart” creating new art. The structure can then be used again. The circle of life, beginning to end and start again…
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration can come from the smallest things. It started with succulents which turned into creating petals with pallet knives, which then led me to using piping bags to create new and diverse visual textures.
What would you do with $25,000?With this money I will be able to jumpstart my career with more opportunities, in showing my creations in art walks and galleries. I would invest in a kiln, tools, and truly be able to leave my 9-5 to do what I truly love.
