I create art to slow down… to step out of the noise & into stillness. Each piece is an invitation into something calm, present, & timeless.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I work a lot with oils, so I guess that is my favorite type to create… but I believe we create art in every second of everyday if we choose.. by being intentional .. I also like acrylic and other forms of art like the beer fridge I shared ? the beer fridge is nice because there are memories (blurry as they may be, lol) attached to every beer sticker. Although I’m not drinking at the moment, I can look at that piece, and it sparks emotion. That’s my favorite art to make, art that sparks emotion.
Where do you find inspiration? In the beauty all around me. It’s in the quiet moments, the moments when I slow down & am present & can hear the birds singing and feel the light breeze and sun on my skin. That is when inspiration finds its way back to me. Also when I travel, old cities, light, the ocean… I’m inspired by color! Vividness. Reflections. Nature. But also let’s be real here, being able to see other artists’ work on social media has been such a gift & inspires me so so much! That really gets me motivated to create:)
What would you do with $25,000?Being a full time artist… that’s the goal. Not just something I dream about, but something I’m actively moving toward. This $25k would give me the space and time to create more, to go bigger with my work, and to really commit to it without hesitation. It would allow me to invest in materials, a dedicated space, and my growth as an artist… and help me fully step into that version of my life.
