I began writing because of heartbreak and confusion. It showed me a way to heal and to help others feel seen, understood, and less alone.

My favorite type of art is writing. I enjoy seeing life as it is raw and difficult yet beautiful. I take inspiration from life, mother nature, sorrow, pain and suffering…and try to turn it in to something beautiful, in to something that others can feel and relate to.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the pain I’ve lived through, especially a difficult childhood and a year of struggle after back surgery. For a long time, I felt stuck, trying to find light in a heavy place. Writing became my way to process it all. I turn those emotions into words that many people feel but can’t always express, and that connection is what keeps me creating.
What would you do with $25,000?For the longest time it has been my dream to write my own book of poems. I would love to take more classes on writing. I’d write as much as i could and have an editor help tighten my voice and shape my poems more. When it gets big I would reinvest in to making a new one. I then would try to give back as well.
