I enjoy many medium, but impressionistic landscapes and the unpredictable spontaneous form of acrylic pour art are my favorites. I create animals and scenes in acrylic by adding mediums to acrylic to make them liquid and pouring colors onto the canvas. The best part is I never know what will happen! Once the canvas is dry, I will wait until it "tells" what it wants to be. I am also fascinated by how light influences landscapes and the process of replicating that.
Where do you find inspiration?Truthfully, a nice long walk in the morning fills my mind with lots of ideas for paintings, projects and plans. If an idea pops into my head, that is a prompt from the Universe that I have a job to create it! I collaborate with fellow artists to share ideas and tap their energy too. I keep a lot of reference photos, notes and sketches to stay organized.
What would you do with $25,000?A portion will go to my education; join an art group that travels to Europe for a cultural/art inspired 10 day workshop. A portion will help to grow a group I founded to help other local artists with critiques of their work, opportunities to show, promote and market. Offer speakers who inspire, day trips to museums and parks and classes (free and low cost) for newbie artists to encourage their creativity. I'd like to develop a website to be a hub of local information for them.
