A reflection of what is felt and left unspoken
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art to create is instinctive, born from honesty and vulnerability laid open. I start with sitting with the discomfort of an open canvas, and allow the unconscious to travel through emotion, texture, and strokes to shape and reveal what aches, lingers, and wants to be seen. This process is a way of putting my soul on paper, and inviting viewers to connect to the parts of them that are felt and left unspoken.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by the complexity of pain and pleasure within the human experience, specifically the tension between isolation, connection, and longing. Sometimes emotions can run so deep that language isn’t enough, and we wish we could share the frequency itself. Through art, I try to make those invisible inner states tangible, by creating a visual container for moments that suspend us in feeling.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would contribute to my school loans and hopefully fund my journey as an artist. In the long term, I would want to build a space where people feel safe to come, create and be seen through their art without restrictions. A little sanctuary to escape in.
