I create art because it’s the greatest use of free will that we possess when you create nobody can tell you what or how to do anything.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Large abstract works using only pinks and blues I try to create art that has no bases in reality almost working on instinct to avoid having familiar shapes in the pieces unless it feels necessary to bring my views back to a feeling of recalling their forgotten memories.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration for my art in pro wrestling particularly in Lucha Libre or Strong Style these are forms of art that inspire in many different ways if you watch the likes of Mistico,Okada,Misawa or Kenny Omega it’s akin to watching Basquiat or David Cho create in person never knowing what to expect when you view the work but when you see. So I take that feeling and bring it to my work wrestling the colors and shapes into submission.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love open a public studio that puts on group shows exclusively for artists based in the Midwest waiting for that first big exposure.Sometime as a creator we can feel as we must go to the grandest city’s to get opportunities bringing opportunities closer to help others grow
