Art was a wonderful outlet for me to fight isolation, loneliness, and mental illness. I am amazed to see my process and the final product!

I love to paint and create aesthetically pleasing and functional art, that you can touch and hold. Especially floral resin pieces with hand-picked and dried flowers, and multimedia collages! I discovered my love for saving flowers to use in my art pieces. After collecting flowers for several months I attempted to work with resin and fell in love with the things I could create using items from nature.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in the world I live in. Some pieces capture my perspective of things I see and endure. Others are based off the world inside of my head. My art reflects my battle with overthinking, self-criticism, and I search for purpose, love and happiness amongst other things, like grappling a the stigma and weight of being diagnosed with BPD. Art helps me express emotions and convey what I am still trying to understand in myself, each artpiece is one jigsaw puzzle piece of my life.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 from The People's Artist would allow me to focus on creating art and help me start paying off my student loan while I continue my education in a Master's of Occupational Therapy. I would create beautiful art pieces without financial restraints and set up a secure future for myself. This recognition would shine the brightest light on my life and I would be so elated and proud to share the news to carry the title of winning The People's Artist!
