I create art because it helps express my inner being. Through colors, shapes emotions and thoughts. Everytime I create, it’s an inspiration.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art to create is meaningful and expressive, the kind that allows me to reveal deep emotions within me. Art has been my passion since I was a kid, and it’s how I channel my creativity. I enjoy making all kinds of art—landscapes, architecture, animals, and even things outside of that like music, clothing, and short films. Whether I’m drawing, painting, or sculpting, I create whatever inspires me in the moment. It’s what heals my inner being and makes me complete.
Where do you find inspiration?Since I was a child, I would always question the reality of things. My parents would tell me things are just the way they are. But I would always look past that. I would always dig for the meaning of everything and why things are the way they are. Through time. I have a gift to question the way things are and bend the walls of reality into my own perception of understanding through creativity. Anything that peaked my interest I found as an inspiration to make it in my own unique way.
What would you do with $25,000?With this money, being 18, I plan to go off to college to further my education and visual arts and film. I plan to use this money for affordable housing for college and the cost itself for college. I was born in an environment where money like this is limited. My opportunities for success with this money would alter my education, my family struggles, and my future dreams forever. This opportunity allows me to push passed the boundaries of my reality that I didn’t think was possible.
