It’s a form of magic. Capturing something intangible, a feeling, or a core belief and giving it a physical representation. Making it ‘real’.

Mixed media canvas art is my favorite. With so many different materials out there, it feels like the sky is the limit. I love playing with as many as I can to create unexpected textures and effects. The pieces that are the closest to my heart are often the ones that are a bit more abstract. Pieces that aim to convey a deep feeling or visceral response through a physical medium. I love art that makes people think beyond the surface. To create experiences of “wow I’ve never seen that before.”
Where do you find inspiration?Honestly? I find inspiration nearly everywhere. Again, with mixed media, the sky is the limit inspiration can be found in materials that otherwise would’ve been thrown away. Through art we can give them new life. I find inspiration in the beauty of the natural world. Being outside, taking it slow noticing things. I think it’s important to find the beauty in the ordinary, the “mundane”. We all live such busy lives and sometimes I think we get so lost that we forget to just pause and live.
What would you do with $25,000?The $25,000 would be used to build my small businesses. In addition to the art world, I am passionate about the underwater one, coral reefs. The funds would be used to increase New England Aquaculture’s capability to preserve the wonders that are currently so critically threatened. To continue to educate and make the hobby, ethical aquaculture and stewardship of coral accessible to our community.
