I love creating my “Whimsical Abstract Landscapes” using controlled fluid acrylic paint backgrounds to create unexpected, dreamlike abstract representations of natural elements. Abundant lifelike texture work makes the painting come alive, almost a 3D effect. I use oil paint for the detail work to give my art a rich, bold, colorful, modern style that makes the viewer want to reach out and touch the painting, to be a part of it, like stepping into a storybook to escape for a moment.

I love to travel and find inspiration from the amazing landscapes I experience. I’ve visited many places such as Italy, France, Costa Rica, Scotland, Ireland, and many more. I also live in Washington state, one of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the U.S. I love to combine elements from these diverse lands and meld them into an “idealized” scene that makes the viewer assign their own memory of where they think the scene is. Only then do they become emotionally involved.

I would take a dream trip with my husband to Iceland to get even more inspiration for future works. I would also love to update my studio in my home to enable me to produce larger works of art. I would also love to support my two nieces who love art as much as I do and I believe will become very talented artists in the future. A fund to help them get started in the art world would give them the boost I wish I had when I was their age.
