My favorite medium to work with is clay! I love clay because you can virtually create any shape your mind can imagine. Sculpture is where my artistic journey began, and from there I expanded into functional pottery and other ceramic work. While I enjoy creating pieces that are both beautiful and useful, sculpture will always hold a special place in my heart. I love the freedom clay offers and the endless possibilities it gives me to bring ideas to life through art.
Where do you find inspiration?I know it may sound cliché to say nature inspires me, but honestly, where else can you find so much beauty, texture, color, and life? Nature has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration. At the same time, inspiration often comes from everyday moments and conversations. What would you do with $25,000?I’d love to say I’d give it away, but honestly I’d invest it into my business, Creative Hands Ceramics, which I’ve owned for 10 years. The economy has been tough, but we continue offering affordable art classes to daycares, special needs students, and children in our community through clay classes and kids activities. This would help us continue sharing art with others.
