The title of my upcoming show is “ALMOST FRAME-OUS!” The theme being that, the frame is sometimes more interesting than the contents.

I love working with Sharpies and watercolors because once the pigment hits the paper there’s no erasing. If I make a mistake , I have to find a way to incorporate it into the piece. I like to modify cute dolls into scary ones. Everything becomes an art supply at my house, including chopping apart my bridesmaids dress to make ‘Salad Fingers’ hands for my Halloween costume. Everything I collect eventually comes in handy for an art project, although you might compare me to Hector the collector.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m hugely inspired by Tim Burton, the Muppets, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Dr. Suess, and all things cute and whacky. I have a collection of creepy dolls. My mother makes creepy dolls for a living, so I guess I’m a lot like her in that regard. My favorite films are Edward Scissor Hands, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas and Fantastic Mr. Fox. If I had a spirit muppet, I think I’d be Statler and Waldorf. I love Blythe dolls and Sonny Angel dolls and tiny trinkets.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to get an art studio space and take my family to Disneyland and of course buy some more members for my dollie family. I would buy art from all of my artist homies. I would like to make a donation to the colorectal cancer research fund, having been a survivor of colon cancer myself. My nieces and nephews will surely get some fun gifts from their auntie Cami as well.
