I create art to express my love for the world, my thoughts and my culture, and to inspire others to embrace themselves through what they do
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite types of art are painting and ceramics. I love getting messy, connecting with the materials, and experimenting with these mediums, they really allow me to do that. Painting with acrylics and oils lets me explore different textures, colors, and techniques, while ceramics allows me to work with clay, play with textures, and create fun, functional shapes.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my daily life. I’m Puerto Rican and an artist, I paint, draw, dance, act, and sing, and all of these shape my creative perspective. My culture, my family, and my life experiences are where my inspiration comes from. I enjoy finding meaning in the smallest details and bringing that personal connection into my work. Art humanizes the heart, and that’s where my inspiration comes from.
What would you do with $25,000?With the $25,000, I would pursue a study abroad program or an internship to continue developing my artistic skills, learn new techniques, and grow both as an artist and as a person.
