I have always loved creating, from a young age I would try to draw everything that caught my creative eye. It’s a liberating experience.

I thoroughly enjoy painting, mostly from reference with a bit of a surreal twist. Whether I am aiming for realism, or expressionism, I can always see what the end image should look like. And with every brushstroke I approach the vision I am trying to recreate onto the canvas before me. Though, I now am focused solely on realism through oil painting. I usually have one realism piece that I’m taking my time on, and will create abstract expressionism on other canvases lying around in between.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration through various documentaries, novels, music, or life experiences. I love taking photos that evoke somewhat of an eeriness to the viewer. Storytelling within my work is heavy, there are little secrets that I like to place within the composition that tell a story. Overall, my inspiration comes from my personal life experiences and the photos I take while I am living out those experiences. I mostly create from reference, and I paint what I feel through abstraction.
What would you do with $25,000?I would take half of the money and open up a trading account so that I can diversify that portfolio into Dividend payouts, while the rest will go towards starting a fund for an art show I have always wanted to set up in my hometown. I have this idea I have been working on for 5 years for an instillation in Aurora, IL. Where viewers can experience color and individualism within a space I rent out over the course of a weeklong artist exhibit.
