Art allows me to physically put an idea onto a page and embrace my connection to intricacy, creativity, and observation.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Hyperrealism art is amongst my favorite since it requires control and making the “impossible” appear effortless. It’s a reward you get for patience and precision. Realism highlights the micro-decisions that a majority of styles can skip. Overall the technical skill required to create hyperrealism gives me a clear idea on how to achieve depth and bring precision to a drawing.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from current contemporary artists such as Heather Rooney and Morgan Davidson. Their mastery of colored pencils pushes me to refine texture, color, and light. I’m also deeply influenced by concepts from social media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Threads. Right now the biggest inspiration point for me is looking for color in concepts to translate onto a piece and make it seem alive and vibrant.
What would you do with $25,000?I can invest more into my craft with a new studio space, portfolio+website, equipment for professional development and with longtime career goal of being an art teacher.
