My favorite type of art to create is the kind that gets messy. I immerse myself in my materials. Being covered in clay from throwing pots or making sculptures, to ruining clothes forever with paint splatters. I studied ceramics at University but my true love lies in painting. I explore colors, lighting, vibes, moods, and the depths within our minds; the patterns and synergies that develop in our dreams and daydreams. I like to explore the unknown and the divine magic of our universe.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes subtly and then bursts with passion. I find my inspiration in nature’s patterns and synergies; how things work together in perfect unison with the universe. I find inspiration in the mysteries of this world and what’s above us and what’s below us; death and life and the cycle of rebirth. I find very strong inspiration from artists and musicians I have studied; Egon Schiele and Isaac Brock specifically have shaped many of my approaches to express myself. Amongst many others.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would completely change my life. I make minimum wage, as many artists do. Since I was 14 my dream has been to travel the country and make art in every state. This country is so beautiful and I want to see it all before I depart this plane. I would use this money to buy a van and make it into my domicile. I will document my travels and make artwork inspired by each place I visit. This money would help buy the van, gas, as well as plenty of art supplies for my travels.
