I use art as a distraction, a way to express myself and work through my thoughts. Each work is a piece of my mind, my body and my soul.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite is collage! I love all forms of art, though. Painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, crocheting, baking, and many more! Growing up, I always had many hobbies and interests, all of them involving creativity.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere. As artists, we can find inspiration in anything. Anything can be created out of anything. Part of why my favorite type of art to create is collage. I love flipping through a magazine, noticing something beautiful, and using it to make something new. Every artist, especially a beginner, should try collage. It is the basics of being an artist at its finest. Finding art, "stealing" bits and pieces, and making something new.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money to support myself through college at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I want to get a B.F.A. in Branding and Advertising, and become an Art Director one day! Therefore, all the money will go towards basic needs for myself, tuition, supplies, etc. It is my dream to be an artist professionally, and winning this award will give me the safety net I need to make it.
