Creating is how I turn noise into something that I can live with, to keep wonder around, even when everything feels to much. I can escape.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Acrylic painting is my home base. I love the physicality, how fast it dries, driving me to be faster, its bold colors...and honestly, it's sense of forgiveness yet its ability to go on almost any medium you want in any style you want. From there i expand into mixed-media and digital illustration and print work and handcrafted pieces.
Where do you find inspiration?I'm drawn to film and animation; they're basically masterclasses in composition, lighting, and mood. I'll notice a single frame, color palette, or the way a scene is staged with a random object, and those things become a starting point. that helps with small real life moments, i see a color combination, mixed with a magazine cover from the 50's...I take that idea and run with it to see what happens. My art never comes with a set plan. I start it, and whatever happens, happens.
What would you do with $25,000?The goal would be toward building a community centered art space, a small gallery and lounge that feels welcoming to everyone, even if they don't already "know art". I want to make it accessible and social, not intimidating. I want the space to be a hub for collaboration, art is more than paintings on a wall, i'd invite local music, host creative meetups for schools or guilds, feature community showcases and bring that culture to life in my area.
