Art is connection and transformation. Through shared making, we become the art…building meaning, belonging, and changing together.

I’m drawn to work that lives between disciplines: ceramics, drawing, printmaking, and social practice. I create experiences as much as objects. Whether it’s a fired vessel or a shared studio moment, my work invites people in. I see art as an “experiment in living,” where everyday acts of making become meaningful and connective while being grounded in process, presence, and shared experience.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in people…their stories, resilience, and quiet, honest moments. I’m drawn to materials that transform through time and pressure, and to the rhythms of nature. Much of my inspiration comes from teaching. Watching people discover their voice is the greatest masterpiece. I believe everyday experiences hold meaning, and that creativity can help us make sense of what it means to be human.
What would you do with $25,000?I would create a community-centered “Art as Life Practice” space where writing, making, and shared experiences invite people to connect more deeply with themselves and each other. Using accessible tools like a mobile kiln alongside other creative practices, this program would center art as something we live, not just make…fostering connection, reflection, and belonging.
