I enjoy creating portraits of people. Capturing their faces in a moment if beautiful. Also, considering they are life-size oil paintings. People keep traditional oil paintings, and so the people I paint will live on through my work. With the certificate of authentication, I include a brief story about the person, their life and why it was captivating to preserve them. The other art I produce is watercolor illustrations for children's books and painted eggs.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the precise moment of now. Time is always rushing ahead, and the most important moment is now. People overlook it or take it for granted. We are our own worst enemy and think we are not enough in this moment, it could be our hair, dress, job, etc. But always, when we look back at those moments, we realize how wonderful we really had it, how beautiful we really were, how stylish we really were. I love the feeling of nostalgia, and it helps bring a sense of peace to the heart
What would you do with $25,000?I want to animate the books that I wrote, illustrated and published. I would use the $25,000 to: - Help pay myself while I work on getting the animation complete - To rent a soundproof room for the voice recordings at RIT in Rochester, NY - Pay a sound artist for some music - and any leftovers would go to getting an audience at the New York City Writers and Illustrators event in January for networking.
