I love creating large-scale contemporary works that combine text, my signature Squiggs and emotion. My pieces often explore modern anxiety, consumer culture, identity and nostalgia through bold compositions that feel playful at first, but reveal something more vulnerable underneath. I’m drawn to clean, impactful visual language that can make someone laugh, pause, or feel unexpectedly understood.

I find inspiration in ordinary moments, overheard phrases, pop culture, old advertising, motel signs, packaging, social media, memories and emotional contradictions. I’m fascinated by the tension between glamour and loneliness, humour and discomfort, confidence and vulnerability. Growing up on the west coast of Ireland also influences my work, especially the feeling of isolation, nostalgia and escapism that runs through many of my pieces.

I would use the funding to expand my practice into larger physical works and immersive installations. It would allow me to secure studio space, experiment with new materials and create ambitious exhibition-scale pieces that combine painting, sculpture and installation. As an independent artist from the west of Ireland, opportunities like this can completely change the scale and reach of what’s possible.
