Painting bold joy without reservation. capturing the light of the inner soul, stolen moments forever etched one layer at a time sculpting with my brush. Les Fauves (French for "wild beasts"), a term coined by critic Louis Vauxcelles to describe the painters' intense, non-naturalistic use of color and energetic brushwork. It is often associated with or considered a form of early 20th-century Expressionism due to its focus on emotional expression
Where do you find inspiration? My father, who raised me, watched me struggle as a small child trying to color within the lines, he gently took my hand and showed me some Picasso’s and said sometimes things are worth more when you go outside the lines. Themes of Adversity, Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh, and Henri Matisse are often highlighted for producing iconic work while dealing with significant personal, physical, or mental challenges. Influenced by my friend, Peter Max, to use more of a vibrant, Fauvist-inspired palette.
What would you do with $25,000?I miss traveling to Art Basel as my movement disorder, confines me more and more. My dream would be a wheelchair accessible vehicle (one that would fit my Quantum Edge 3 Stretto pediatric-sized tilt recline wheelchair) that I could take my art to exhibits. And as long as I’m dreaming, I would love for this accessible vehicle to be Electric to charge with solar. I would paint at the ocean, teach underserved communities such as, Care Resources & the handicapped confined in assisted living.
