I create to understand myself and express what words and logic cannot fully explain or uncover within me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
While I enjoy working across diverse media, my favorite art to create is charcoal and pen drawing in my handmade sketchbooks. I’m drawn to darker themes and expressive imagery because they allow me to explore emotion, contrast, and human complexity in a raw and personal way.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration tends to come to me naturally in moments rather than from a single source. Sometimes it’s a feeling or a personal “phase” I’m moving through that turns into a visual idea. Other times, I start drawing without a fixed plan, and the work itself begins to guide me, almost like a conversation. I also often respond to my own thoughts or emotions in real time, letting the drawing evolve into words or meaning as it develops.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were to win $25,000, I would invest it directly into myself and my development as an artist. I would use it to relocate to a more diverse environment where I can find community, inspiration, and a stronger sense of identity. I would also reinvest in my practice through materials, space, and opportunities that allow me to grow and share my work more widely, with the hope of inspiring others to create more freely as well.
