What is your favorite type of art to create?

Street Photography. Seeing people in their raw, imperfect form is inspiring. This resonates as art. I look at people with a pure lens. Compassion pours out of my mind, heart, eyes. I feel like I'm doing God's work as I focus my lens, without judgment on people we often walk by, those unnoticed... those in poverty, in need, sad, in pain, in quiet love, unscripted joy, people finding purpose in the fight. Photography is the reflective eye of the needle threading humanity together, as one.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in everyone and in everything at all times...across the globe. Besides photography as a passion, poetry is also a passion. Music is a passion. For a living, I curate live shows (all genres of music, all areas of the arts). My company places artists on legendary stages. I'm lucky to be living out my passion and to help people live out theirs. Art exists in so many forms. Much of the same result: evoking emotions & understanding our own power in this Universe: Freedom.

What would you do with $25,000?

If I win the $25,000, I would upgrade my view. These images were photographed with an old iphone, where the good side of technology simply captured the intense human experience. I would buy a new iphone, buy a few lenses & a minolta SRT 101(love that 60's 70's feel) and keep shooting. Most importantly I would share the money amongst the subjects I photographed in Malindi and Lamu, Kenya. They need it most. I would also gift a few strangers in need on the streets of America along the way.
