I create art to turn feeling into something you can see. My camera holds the stories my heart can’t keep carrying alone.

I’m currently moving away from the polished world of commercial shoots toward a fine art space that feels more urgent and honest. My favorite work lives at the intersection of high-fashion editorial and raw storytelling. I use natural light to explore themes of emotional neglect and the quiet "weight" we carry from childhood. As a Black woman with Caribbean roots, I’m focused on making images that don’t just look good, but actually hold space for healing and the complexities of our history.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration usually hits in the quiet moments, the way natural light hits a room or the specific, heavy nostalgia of my grandparents' stories. I’m deeply moved by the aesthetic of artists like Dana Scruggs and Sasha Samsonova, but my real fuel comes from my own interior world. I look at dream journals, spiritual symbols, and the textures of the islands to help me visualize the things I used to keep hidden. It’s about finding the beauty in the parts of us that felt "too much" or "not enough."
What would you do with $25,000?This would fund the production of my current series, Citrus: The Orchard's Inheritance. I’d invest in medium-format gear to give these pieces the physical presence they deserve in a gallery. Beyond technical needs, I want to host an exhibition that doubles as a community space—a place where women of color can see their childhood experiences reflected. It’s about building a body of work that is technically undeniable and emotionally transformative, moving art from a hobby to a legacy.
