It allows me the time to heal from the madness I’ve survived. Art is therapy without words, without being demanding, no judgement- freedom.

Cubism comes naturally to me whereas before I would do more typical art like scenery, flowers , animals. I am fascinated with mental health and how sometimes we as humans feel like there are multiple versions of ourselves. In life we are expected to surpress the versions of ourselves that make us feel alive inside. Others can’t handle it or can’t handle the unpredictability of it so we’re forced to show the one pleasing to others. Cubism allows me to be me and express what’s inside.
Where do you find inspiration? My heart & brain is my inspiration. I create better when I’m sad, upset, angry, frustrated and even overwhelmed. I’ve experienced traumas throughout life as everyone has when I’m hurting art makes me feel seen & heard.
What would you do with $25,000?I’m in the final stages of a startup business for health and wellness, stress, relief, decompression, and so on. I would like to add an artful practice or therapy in addition to what’s already part of the business plan. Often time, greed in love for money, overtakes the need to offer wellness in smaller remote communities. I would like my business to support those who don’t have the funds for mental health support and a year-round space. People that are under-privileged hurt & are depressed too!
