I like to interpret dreams, it’s the main focus of my creativity. The overlappings, signs and layers of the subconcious fascinates me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Visual Art, Printmaking, terra cotta sculpture, photograpy and digital art. I just got a set of woodcarving tools, planning to start wood carving in the weekends.
Where do you find inspiration?I am Indigenous and my primary inspiration comes from cultural traditions, the stories of my ancestors, the interpretation of dreams and the subconscious, as well as from Indigenous communities around the world. I am also influenced by current events and my experiences in the places I visit which inform my visual narratives. I am drawn to artworks that tell stories, inspire others and portray history; this is the path I continue to pursue.
What would you do with $25,000?I would allocate a portion of the prize to purchase art materials for the art program I established 25 years ago in Palawan, Philippines which has supported over 200 out-of-school youth. This initiative continues to provide outreach using art as a means to help disadvantaged youth return to school or develop it as a source of livelihood. I would also set aside the remaining funds to support my two children’s future college education.
