My favorite art to create is the kind that makes someone stop mid-scroll, mid-bite, mid-thought. Collage, watercolor, ink, clay — I'll conspire with any material willing. The goal? A reaction. A question. That little jolt of 'wait, what?' Art that starts a conversation isn't finished when you walk away from it. That's the only kind worth making.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere. Everything. The kid who draws on their sneakers. A cracked sidewalk. A headline that won't leave me alone. Dreams I can't quite remember but can't quite forget. Nature doing its thing, completely indifferent to my opinion. Inspiration isn't something I go looking for — it's something I've stopped trying to escape. The world is relentlessly generous with material. I just show up with a pencil.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly? My brain went seventeen directions at once — which feels about right. Materials for my elementary art students, because inspiration should never be limited by an empty supply closet. A small trip, because new places rewire how you see everything. A food experience, because texture, color and culture live on a plate too. $25,000 is a magnificent problem to have — and I'd spend every cent towards fostering and elevating the intrinsic creativity of myself and those around me.
