I create art to process my surroundings and my subconscious emotions, while presenting alternative perspectives on familiar narratives.

I love being able to push the boundaries of painting. I often explore new forms and ways of displaying painting that chance the viewer's experience of traditional painting. Working in this way allows me the freedom to be in-between disciplines, working a little more sculpturally with my painting practice and working a little more painterly with my sculpture practice while also exploring installation as an art form.
Where do you find inspiration? From life! I always begin my paintings with analog cut and paste collages built from a mix of found imagery and my own photography, combining these into collages that then build a series I can develop paintings from. I'm intuitively drawn to subject matter and often run with this even if I don't understand my own draw to it yet. After the painting process is complete, the connection and the reasoning reveals itself to me and I understand what I was processing subconsciously in that moment.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to invest in a proper ventilation system for my studio, as the toxins from paint can severely affect your health overtime. I would also love to invest in some good quality brushes, and to pay for framing of some existing artworks that I haven't been able to frame due to cost. Any leftover funds would go into my business fund for future supplies, application fees and studio storage/fixes. It would make a huge difference to my practice!
