I love the freedom of art. Being able to make my ideas and emotions into a physical creation makes me feel free.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create art with themes of death and pain. These are ideas that society tries to hide and avoid. We let fear control us. We will die, we will get hurt. I believe we must embrace every part of life to live free. That is why I paint these ideas, to make people feel them and realize it is just another part of being human.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from my own fears. I paint what scares me most. When I focus on those ideas, I can move on and live life without fear. As to my style of painting, I take inspiration from practical effects in old horror movies. I love how disgustingly fake everything looks and it inspires me to keep my art fun and not always completely realistic.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000 I would invest in my future as an artist. I’ve never really been able to commit to being an artist. I have to keep a full time job and go to school. I would focus on sharing my art and making sure people see what I do and find the audience who have similar thoughts. I want to inspire people to focus on their fears, and help people feel free.
