I want to create art that expresses the beauty of nature felt by my own heart on canvas with as little embellishment as possible. And I want to create works that bring peace to the hearts of those who see them. This is because the purpose of creating art for me is to express gratitude for the beauty of nature, and I want to share the beauty I have felt with others.
Where do you find inspiration?When I see beautiful nature, especially beautiful flowers, I feel as if the flowers are speaking to me, saying 'paint me.' There are also times when, while talking with someone, an image for my next work suddenly comes to mind, or at other times, fragments of an image for my next art work appear when I am doing nothing at all. For me, inspiration is probably not something to be actively sought after, but something that comes to me unexpectedly when I am not consciously aware of it.
What would you do with $25,000?I want to stay in Brittany, France, and paint. I want to go snorkeling on the beaches of Brittany, take photos of the underwater scenery, and turn them into large paintings. I also want to capture the beautiful light of the rural landscapes of Brittany and paint as the light changes throughout the day. Then I want to visit Monet's garden, take photos of the water lilies, do outdoor sketches, and paint many water lily paintings.
