What is your favorite type of art to create?

My work aims to evoke, to speak, and to come from a real place within me. In that process, I walk a razor’s edge between authenticity and advocacy. I explore the challenge of overcoming limitation, both personal and universal. Each crossroads in a piece asks me to risk something or cling to the plan. In choosing, I come closer to knowing myself, and that practice is at the heart of what I hope to offer others.

Where do you find inspiration?

In the limitless abundance around me, both physical and digital, everything from how a tree sways in the wind to eight-bit critters in flatland. I’ve stood on the edge of the abyss enough times to wonder if I should plant my roots there, because living authentically is all I’m interested in anymore, and the edge seems to be the only place where that’s possible. My inspiration comes from exploring the paradoxes we must balance to navigate life with virtue.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to focus on finishing and publishing my books, especially the children’s books I hope will gently guide young people through important lessons and self-discovery. I would also use part of it to begin laying the foundation for a mental health focused bed and breakfast, a project I have been envisioning for more than ten years. My goal is to create work and spaces that offer reflection, support, and lasting value.
