This is something I've always I wanted to pursue and I’d like to share my art with as many people as I can.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like drawing in the style that emulates the golden age of animation. I like making stuff that looks like old Disney cartoons with more adult themes. I also enjoy working with watercolor. Seeing artists achieve photorealism with that medium is incredible, and it’s something I’ve been exploring in my own work. At the core my favorite type of art to create is anything that catches my attention and anything that drives me to put in the hours, keep experimenting, and progressing every day.
Where do you find inspiration?I grew up surrounded by creativity—my mom is a painter, and my dad runs a clothing brand. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been observing everything and finding inspiration in the world around me. The most powerful thing to me is watching anyone feel proud of what they’ve made and seeing them genuinely excited to put it out into the world.
What would you do with $25,000?With this support, I would transition from production printmaking and screen printing into a more creative, artist-focused role. Instead of spending most my time as an employee fulfilling large orders, I’d be able to create work that’s truly my own. In the print shops where I’ve worked, we produce around 500 shirts per hour once everything is running smoothly. There’s real satisfaction in completing jobs and seeing happy customers. But my dream is to make my own shirts and show my artwork.
