What I’m creating now is. It has shifted my perspective and practice to create paintings that are alive and paintings that can be sculpted. I created these works because even though I love painting, paintings that are 2D can only exist in one way. The work that I’m creating now can be considered modular. It be shaped in a multitude ways and can even be paired with other works; which means the art is living and can me sculpted to match the internal architecture of the viewer or the individual.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from anything and anywhere. I am open to the great spirit of life and I have been very blessed to continue to receive ideas everyday. The other day we were watching one of my Sons favorite shows, and they were speaking about magnets and levitation, and I immediately got an idea to make levitating paintings using magnets. It’s still in the works but this is a primary example of how I can receive and recognize inspiration in everything and everywhere.
What would you do with $25,000?Oh man I would do so much! I would figure out how to make levitating paintings, I would use it to take care of my son and start a trust for him & begin planning my estate for him. I would use it to rent a studio space and begin hosting forums on discussing and architecting the future of art. I would literally create a new school/ movement of thought that continues to explore and cultivate the powers of mythology & art to awaken psycho spiritual abilities. I would also buy a motorcycle haha
