Art has always allowed me to channel my thoughts, fears, and most complex parts of myself onto one simple sheet of paper
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I have always been fascinated with hyperrealistic surrealism using charcoal and graphite pencils. Paying close attention to the way light is reflected off of an object or person allows me to fall in love with the subject. I find Learning hyperrealism to be incredibly important in creating surrealistic art because the creation of something so incomprehensible yet so real that it forces its audience to question reality is what I believe to be the true connection through one’s soul
Where do you find inspiration?I find myself to be most inspired when I am surrounded, or generally, places that make me feel small. I gain motivation when I feel hopeful, and feeling small reveals the fact that there is so much more to life than my personal worries. Now that I am entering a new stage of life, I find this fact to be one of the most beautiful yet scariest of truths. But the fear, and desire to want more compels me to create what I may not ever get to see.
What would you do with $25,000?It would really help pay for my college tuition. I am an 18 year old artist and I am determined to receive the best education and resources to help create a non profit organization that provides kids with sick parents the tools necessary to successfully pursue their artistic aspirations. I want to give back to the world and I believe that providing recourses to the next generation of artists is how I can do that.
