Work made navagates the wilds of human minds, it can inspire, give joy, make someone uncomfortable enough to examine their own feelings.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My world has been a dance of watercolor paintings, ceramic, Iraquoian corn husk dolls, traditional American heritage craft, acrylic paints, blacksmithing and mixed media with a speciality in paper. I can't give up Blacksmithing or pottery but my absolute favorite I hope to grow old with is watermedia.
Where do you find inspiration? The deep cultural roots of American folk lore past, maritime and indiginous tortured and delighted in the old ways and old stories of ancient america and the movement through time and how people relate to eachother. I'm always looking how the old ways apply today and human connections to the world around us.
What would you do with $25,000?It will be start up funding of a dream i have of creating hand dipped beeswax candle making place that is both warming shelter for the unsheltered in our sub zero winters as well as a source of income in the moment for anyone who needs to make a little income to help sustain themselves, paid by the piece ethically and resold to continue giving. My little historic community had been hit hard by changes and I believe handmade and Arts is the path to resilience and recovery.
