I create songs to help me find my voice and visual art to keep my mind sharp. Always a challenge to connect with people and Imagination.

Painting and drawing seem to suit my introverted nature but I have always pushed myself into music because I love to collaborate. I studied Cuban hand drums and then moved into a trap set. Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin and Jim Morrison were my first loves growing up in Los Angeles. There were so many amazing bands to see in Hollywood. I might have to change my mind and say that music is my favorite. It really pushes me out into a visceral excitement and universal connection.
Where do you find inspiration?I am inspired by everything from 10 year olds doing cover songs on Instagram to Johnny Lee Hooker vynyl. Visually I am transfixed by artist s from Monet to Rothko … Jean Michel Basquiat to underground cartoonists like R. Crumb. My work I would classify as underground cartooning.
What would you do with $25,000?I would head directly to Rancho de la Luna studios in Joshua Tree and produce music with friend Michael Barragan on guitar. I have worked below the poverty line for most of my art career so it would be amazing to expand. Would love to produce some work for public walls.
