The type of art that transports you to an otherworldly place - on a spiritual level. I have often been told viewing my art is like a hit of dopamine. We need more of that in this world. I found art through a dark time in my life and what brought me back was creating surreal and vivid places you can only dream to be. If I can transport anyone to a moment of peace from this crazy world we live in, then that is enough of a reason in of its self to continue painting.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in almost anything and everything. Especially nature. My love for the ocean especially. The way the light hits the water - but in a surreal way. I love experimenting with bright and vivid colors in a cohesive way. I could be driving down the road and see shadows from the trees and my mind automatically goes to , how can I recreate such a basic thing we see on a daily basis into a beautiful subject. I feel that really slows me down and reminds me to enjoy the small things.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would use it to fund a space for me to create art. Right now I am using our dining room as my art space and it would be a blessing to be able to have a separate place to use as my studio. I am also a mom of five with my partner. I would love to be able to do something special for my family.
