It is an artist job to share perspective. By allowing your mind to conjure imagery into reality, it gives others insight into the unknown.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create generally falls in the raw unflattering realm of folk art/modern. I like to create striking figures and shapes in the same plane of existence with no real reason other than they clash visually. Like nature, nothing I create is uniform or exact. The shape and general idea is present but the flow and motion of life lives within the creation visually.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration heavily from tattoo art and traditional non traditionally trained folk artist. To me art is fluid like water in nature. It has no conformity and molds and bends through space and time. The simple fact of harnessing that muse to create a work of art is inspiring in its own right. I have a hard time fathoming this, let alone executing it into reality!
What would you do with $25,000?First I would make a significant donation to Citizens Energy Group’s Warm Hearts Warm Home foundation. A nonprofit organization set up to help those in need, during winter months the ability to warm their homes. This cause is very near and dear to me. Growing up in the Midwest winter can be very challenging, especially to those in need. An organization like theirs is so important to our human community as a whole! After that I’d tuck a little away to get myself some more painting supplies!
