Flowers… they are what a love to paint. I paint realistically in oils. The rich, luminous, sometimes moody character it’s are fascinating. Each painting teaches me something about myself. It’s a wonderful practice.
Where do you find inspiration?I grow most of the flowers that I paint. Inspiration begins in the dirt, literally. I also photograph flowers in my community gathering inspiration from other peoples gardening contributions.
What would you do with $25,000?Art is good for the artist and the audience, the community and the economy. If I were to win I would use the funds to further develop a bridge between artist creating great art and collectors. “The Gap” is the teaching platform that I am creating to help artists get their work in front of raving fans and possible collectors.
