I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. Being creative is a natural form of sustenance for me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I have an affinity for painting landscapes, but not just your traditional landscape. While my technique and approach may seem traditional on the surface, my motivation is to capture the essence and spirit of the land. I am motivated by the simplicity of its presence and am constantly in awe of its grandeur. In a time of great abundance, simplicity is key, less is more and nature is omnipotent.
Where do you find inspiration? From nature and the land we (all of us) occupy, but especially from my connection to my ancestry of Denmark. I have been painting for the better part of my life, and everytime I return to Denmark and my relatives, it feels so natural to appreciate it through the act of painting. It is a spiritual experience for me. It is my mecca. I try my best to transcribe the spirit of the land and of my ancestors.
What would you do with $25,000?Help pay off some debts and secure some investments for my children. Take a trip to Denmark with my children. Since the birth of my child Johannes (3 years) it has been hard to find the means to travel. My daughter was born in Oct. We were planning on going this summer but that will not be happening due to financial constraints.
