I live and love creating regalia and jewelry. What I create comes from my heart, they're my prayers to my ancestors and are for the people.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love sewing and beading. I make native regalia and jewelry for the people. My father is a silversmith and my mother is a beader and embroiderist. I love working with all materials and colors, beads and fabrics. I try to come up with different designs, shapes, use counting, styles and patterns as well as mixture of colors. I make dresses, shirts, kilts, blankets, earrings, necklaces, hairties , bracelets, rings. I paint, I work in different types of mediu, all authentically made by me.
Where do you find inspiration?God and my angels, ancestors, culture, music, my home, and my family, my people, and from all aspects of the world. My art carries our prayers to the creator. Lessons in life and my dreams. To make the world a better place. There are struggles but there is also hope and love and understanding. Our art comes from our ideas and experiences, all the the things we know or love or fear and come to understand. It's meant to be shared.
What would you do with $25,000?Get my family at least two good cars so we could visit each other or go selling. I would take care of my family and get them supplies to create more art. Get myself supplies and machines to expand my jewelry making in silver. I would put together a shop to work in. Save for future events like feast days and cultural days. Help people. I would travel. Meet more people, try new positive things, make world better, an amp and guitar, to attend more art shows to sell at.
