I love Surrealism as it transcends reality and stirs emotion in the viewer. I love to create paintings where people can see themselves walking within the landscapes or riding the waves. I strive to create timeless art that everyone wants to stare at for hours or even years without boredom. With each brush stroke I am healed and become connected to the person that will hang my painting upon their wall. The collector and I join together in mutual appreciation.
Where do you find inspiration?Exploration! Snapping pictures of people, plants and animals that catch my eye. I've taken countless photos of people, especially their eyes. This helps me remember the beauty of that person, of what caught my eye. I then like Frankenstein assemble a unique human. I love it when people recognize facial features. It's fun hiding things within paintings for people to discover. Look close!
What would you do with $25,000?This prize will make a huge difference in my life! Artist's need canvases, paint brushes and time in order to create the art that fills homes and hearts. This money would open more time to paint, and allow my mind to clear from financial concerns allowing inspirations to come to life.
