I love to create because I believe art has the power to unite people through shared emotions and experiences. Art brings me peace.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I really love creating portrait paintings in oil or acrylic because I get to capture the feeling of a person and their spirit beyond what they look like. I get to show their kindness, their warmth, personality, and the little details that make them human and real.
Where do you find inspiration?I find majority of my inspiration in the world and in humanity. Even though things are pretty ugly in the world today, I’m inspired by the small moments of kindness I still see everyday. Meeting new people and experiencing genuine energy really plays a big part in my work. I also find inspiration in my family because of the love familiarity there, it’s naturally something I like to capture in my art.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would invest in myself and my art by using part of the funding to support my education and living expenses in art school so I can stay focused on painting and be fully present in my work. I would also invest in better materials and more substrates which would allow me to paint more. $25,000 would give me the opportunity to grow as an artist and take more creative risks within my work.
