Anything that explores the human need for rhythm and movement, and our innate love of a good texture and color combination, a satisfying composition.
Where do you find inspiration?100 percent Japanese woodblock prints. Their less is more attitude and the way that they nail utilizing all aspects of visual art, I have never seen a Japanese print without a satisfying composition. Music is also a huge part of my work, so the way music translates to image is very interesting and always a source of inspiration.
What would you do with $25,000?I graduate from University of Wisconsin-Parkside in a few weeks with an art degree. I want to use it to ensure that I can keep creating and go places. I dream of having some cash to ensure that I have a proper studio space after I graduate, especially since I do woodworking sculpture and large scale painting. This money would mean so much. Outside of the fact that 25,000 dollars is helpful, it would just be so rewarding to earn such a great prize and opportunity.
