I am a post-industrial environmentalist artist, full-time boat builder, and sailor whose work explores the tension of industry and decay.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Fave art to create: I mostly work with acrylic paint however I also create my designs using digital drawing tools and use collage and multiple media in my paintings as well.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration: I find inspiration in the natural world, especially but not limited to the ocean, and in the daily interaction and impact of the industrialized world on it.
What would you do with $25,000?In 2012 I earned a visual art degree, but for the past 12 years I’ve devoted my time to my other passion — sailing and boat building. Creativity has shaped my problem-solving throughout, yet finding time for art has been a struggle. Recently I’ve pushed harder, setting up a studio in a container at work. With $25,000, I would secure a year-round, heated studio and materials to build a consistent body of work exploring sustainability and reducing human impact on the natural world.
