I am a storyteller. I may not be good with words but through my art I hope to tell the world my motto, Be Not Afraid of Adventure.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Right now, I am excited about creating illustrations for a children's book I am writing. It will be full of action and adventure, some loss and friendship. It will be a visual explosion where I use my synesthesia throughout the chapter book to convey deep emotions, connection, and empathy with others around us, humans AND animals. I use acrylics, colored pencil, water soluble crayon, sumi ink and oil pastels.
Where do you find inspiration?I love Vincent Van Gogh, Monet, Alexander Calder and many other artists and performers like Yo Yo Ma with his cello . Honestly, I find inspiration all around me because I have ADHD. I see someone's art, or hear a song or think of a movie and my brain pings from one thing to another. Generally, I find inspiration from the beauty found in nature. However, I steal ideas from many different visual arts and auditory input. I think we all, given enough time, could hear visual art and see music.
What would you do with $25,000?I would build an art studio in my home where I could create artwork from the things around my world that inspire me and continue to write children's books and dream daily. Thank you for asking...
