Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite art to create is public art, murals because they are big and can be seen everyday outside on the wall where everyone can enjoy them and find connection to culture and beauty and pride! Many of my murals have come out in movies and people love to take pics of their cars and models in front of them. They have been in magazines and music videos. Also my public sculptures have been getting a lot of attention and people love to see my work as they pass through my hometown of Española NM

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration from my deep culture roots and the beautiful landscape around me, also music is very important to my creativity. I jam music while I’m painting or sculpting and that helps me flow as I imagine the lines and colors and forms that make my art come alive with feeling and emotions, bringing the vibe out to the community in a way they can connect to the art and feel the magic through my vision turned into reality before their eyes, a lasting legacy for my people to remember as home

What would you do with $25,000?

If I were to be awarded with $25,000, I would definitely use it to continue doing art, investing in art supplies, tools and technology that would help me grow to the next level in all aspects of my career! I would like to do a documentary on my life and family to show people how I grew up with a family of artist and now I’m taking my art to the next level! I want to create a huge mural across from my gallery in Española to spark interest and create tourism to our community positively
