Crystelle Gregory

Creating art is how I turn the noise of existence into something tangible. It’s a raw, quiet way to belong to a world that can feel distant.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type art is crochet. I don’t just crochet with yarn. I crochet with questions. With pieces of me I don’t know how to say out loud. This isn’t just fiber. It's emotion you can touch. If you really look you’d see that every stitch is saying something. Every row is me, saying: Please! Just feel this. Just see me. In the yarn, I exist fully. I am heard, even if only by my own hands. I want to bring a sense of raw emotion, comfort and community through my work. It is my therapy.

Where do you find inspiration?

Inspiration usually hits in the quiet corners of the everyday. I’m drawn to the pull of childhood nostalgia, the specific colors and feelings that shaped me, and the characters from TV shows. I find beauty in the "raw" moments of creation, where I can translate personal isolation into something physical. Whether it’s a specific texture, a nostalgic feeling, or a familiar melody, I create to bridge the gap between my inner world and the one outside one project at a time.

What would you do with $25,000?

I’d invest $25,000 into scaling my creative systems. First, I’d upgrade to a workshop and upgrade photography gear to elevate my art and content. Next, I’d love to launch local community initiatives, like themed events, to bridge digital concepts with real-world connection. Most importantly this would build a financial safety net for me to protect my "raw" creative voice, ensuring I can continue producing honest, unpolished art without the pressure of needing to make a profit.
